Are you a servant or a leader?
I think that I am a servant, because I like to help people out. I go to River Town Church of God and every year we go to some of the bad parts of town and we will feed the homeless and clean their houses for them and some of the men in our church will repaint their house and just help them out with that. I liked doing that because I had a chance to meet with new people and make their life a little easier. I also use to volunteer with PAWS. I loved doing that because I love animals and it makes me feel good that I can help a little puppy or kitten. So I love helping people it just gives me a good feeling. I know when I was younger and my parents were going through a divorce, my mom didn't work because my dad brought in the money and she couldn't be "Santa" one year, so my church bought presents for me and my brother so we could have a Christmas. I know they didn't have to do that and that was really sweet of them. I know on Chritmas morning when I saw all my gifts I was so happy so I can only imagine when I help out people how happy they really are and it makes me feel good to make a difference in someone's life :)

CB & T Vistors Last Week
Last week when our two lovely visitors came, Heather Horne and Kwame Smith we learned a lot of budgeting and savings and credit. Ms. Heather addressed things dealing with the different types of bank accounts you can have and whats the purpose of each account. She told us about how if you have a savings account a little interested will be added because you can go back and get that money back at any time. They also have other types of accounts where you have to pay to get your money back before a certain time and with those certain types of accounts you have more interested added because you can not just go back and get that money back at any time. Mr. Kwame talked with us about budgeting. We did a little activity on going to prom and used out income as the money that we had and the actually cost of the prom we wanted and taught us that you basically have to be smart with your money in order to get the things you want.

The Reason I was out on Thurdsay
I was absent last Thursday because my mom didn't want to wake up the baby to bring me and all my friends were at work and couldn't bring me. My dad was all the way in Birmingham working so there was no way for him to take me. That is the reason I was absent on Thursday of last week :)

R*E*S*P*E*C*T!
RESPECT, What does that really mean?
I think respect is looking up to someone and being polite to them. Now-a-days not every one respects one another like they should. When you have respect for someone you don't want to talk bad to them or about them, you want to make sure that everything you do is right to make that person proud. For Example, your parents, whenever you talk back to them or do something you know your not supposed to do, your are disrespecting them and not showing them the respect that you should and was raised to do.

Man drives van into Farrar's Home Center
Early this morning a man driving a van ran into the Farrar's Home Center located on Buena Vista Road. One minute they have a suspect they have seen on camera, the next minute they don't have a suspect. Right now they don't have one, all they know is a male driving a van busted into the store. They think it is the same male who was video stealing 2 plasma televisions.

Kayne West and Taylor Swift at VMA's
At last night's award show Taylor Swift had just won her award after being in the same category as Beyonce. She won and went on stage to make her acceptance speech when about that time about that time Kayne West came up and took the microphone from her and proceeded to say, “Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)” was “one of the best videos of all time, and that Beyonce should of won." Taylor looked like she was about to cry. I think that is very low of Kayne to do that, especially to her being that she is so young and she was excited because she does sing country music and was shocked that she won a moon man. Later on in the night Beyonce won the Video of the Year and allowed Taylor Swift to come back on stage and finish speaking like she was before she was rudely interrupted. I think that was very nice of Beyonce, she didn't have to do that but that just shows how much class she has.Tuesday, September 8, 2009
Obama Speech Today 9/8/09
Today President Obama visited Wakefield High in Arlington, VA and talked about education. He said that young people have to have an education in whatever it is that you want to do in like. You can't take the easy way out when things get hard, you have to try harder to get the job done. He said that we have to put things that are important first and know that getting a good education is everything. Obama said that he used to have to wake up at 4:30 in the morning for his mom to teach him things because she didn't have the money to send him to an American school while he was living in Indonesia. His whole message in a nutshell today was how if you don't have a good education you wont get anywhere in life. Nowadays education is more important than ever and you will have to have it in the future.

Adam Goldstein "DJ AM" RIP. 8/28/09
On Friday at around 5:20, DJ AM was found dead in his NYC apartment. He was only 36 years old. After friends calling him and him not answering, they called the police and found his dead. They police said that there had been no sign of foul play. DJ AM had admitted to doing crack cocaine and ecstasy in the past, but claimed to have been drug free for years. He was a major DJ for all the hot Hollywood parties. Almost a year ago DJ AM and Travis Barker the drummer for Blink 182 were in a server plane crash in South Carolina. Luckily they both survived with some major injures. DJ AM went on to say "I can't believe I made it," he said. "I've prayed every night for the past 10 years. There's a lot more to thank God for now. ... I was saved for a reason. Maybe I'm going to help someone else. I don't question it. All I know is I'm thankful to be here." -DJ AM. This is a huge loss for everyone. He will always been remembered for keeping the parties going and playing good music. RIP DJ AM.

"Mohawk Haircut"
I think that the "Mohawk haircut" should not be a big deal. Students should be able to show either school spirit or their individuality. Fashion has changed so much during the years that it seems like so many people are rocking Mohawks that it is not a shocker anymore to see teenagers or young adults walking around with them. So personally I think that the Mohawk haircut should be allowed for kids to show who they are. It isn't distracting, students aren't going to make a big deal about students having Mohawks.
"Flu bug hits local schools"
In Muscogee county at least three school have reported that at least 10% of their students are getting sick, many have been having flu symptoms. Blackmon Road has a total of 804 students on a normal day, on Monday 10 % of their students were absent. Same goes for Richards Middle and Midland Middle School. Pat Patterson a pharmacist at Wal-Mart said "We are seeing more and more cases earlier than usual be it the flu or some kind of other infection." Most schools are saying to stay home if you aren't feeling well at all so that other students will not catch it and the staff will not get it either.
